Best Thing I Ever Ate (Disney): Victoria And Alberts… everything

Besides my passion for radio, I’ve always had a lifelong love for Disney. I’ve always had an affinity for the films, television programs, and parks at large. When it came time for the next adventure, I knew it had to be Disney related. After many years of discussion and brainstorming with Jacki, Monoreel Radio was born.

On November 21st, 2004, a microphone was turned on, and I was hooked. Broadcasting live on a pirate radio station out of a Huntington, New York basement, I was discussing the world of sports, and my plans of going to school to become an attorney went out the window. I knew I would be dedicating my life to the world of radio. In September of 2005, I was attending Saint Leo University in the Tampa area where I was the radio play-by-play voice of the university’s soccer, basketball, and baseball teams. As much as I enjoyed that experience, I knew the sport I really wanted to cover was hockey.

On October 7th, 2007, that dream became a reality. I launched NYI FYI, a weekly program dedicated solely to the New York Islanders with longtime friend Chris Hessel. Astonishingly enough, about two weeks after the first broadcast, the Islanders came calling. They had just launched I-TV, a new online TV service dedicated to the team, and they were looking for content for the website. They pegged us as something they were interested in, and for the next two years or so, we were simulcast on their website, something I never thought would be possible. I was also fortunate enough to be an on-air personality for 106.1 WBLI and 102.3 WBAB on Long Island, as well as 95.9 The Boss in Jacksboro, Texas.

I can’t express how excited I am to share my enthusiasm for these timeless Disney films, and I’m beyond thrilled to interact with this community! I hope you enjoy the show!

Favorite Walt Disney Quote: "I hope that we never lose sight of one thing: that it was all started by a mouse."

Favorite Film: Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl

Favorite Character: Genie

Favorite Attraction: Pirates Of The Caribbean

Best Thing I Ever Ate (Disney): O'Hana f

My movie obsession began early on with the Wizard of Oz and was fueled by Disney throughout my childhood. At age three, The Little Mermaid was the first movie I saw in theaters and I was completely hooked (no pun intended). When I wasn't watching a Disney movie, it was either the Disney afternoon or NickToons. What I didn't realize then was that I was laying the building blocks for my later career by absorbing all of these different forms of storytelling.

In high school, I took an elective TV production class and it wasn't until then that it occurred to me movies and television could be more than just a hobby. I absolutely fell in love with the production process and continued on to receive my degree in Audio/Video/Film from Hofstra University. Since graduating college, I've worked in post production in various forms ranging from wedding videos, to YouTube to broadcast television and have also produced a few short films. During college, I did an internship with a local radio station, where I met Sean, and developed a love for a different kind of storytelling, through audio. I'm so happy to combine both of my passions, and my love for Disney with Monoreel Radio!
